Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)
DBT is a skills-based therapy that teaches you how to live in the moment, develop healthy ways to cope with stress, decrease painful emotions, and improve relationships with others. It also helps you learn to accept yourself as you work to change and grow. In DBT, we not only look at problematic thoughts that prevent you from healing, we focus extensively and emotional experiences and behavior. DBT is helpful for people who have high sensitivity to emotions and have experienced trauma and/or invalidation from their environments.
